Dear Friends:
We’re approaching the one-year anniversary of the Foodlink Blog. We created this blog as a way to share exciting news and updates, pass along great articles we’ve read, connect with other food, farming, child nutrition, hunger & charity blogs (or any we found interesting!), reach out to our community, and keep in touch with our loyal supporters! In recent months, we’ve been brainstorming ways to “spice up” this page and get YOU all of the best, most interesting, and informative news possible. So here goes: starting today, our incredible staff will take turns each week sharing their perspective and offering a little slice of the Foodlink world to our readers.
Meet our Staff Bloggers:
- Bria Anderson, Business Development Manager
- Denise Mercury, Nutrition Resource Manager
- Maria Oberst, Community Relations Manager
- Julia Tedesco, Program Planning & Public Policy Manager
- Rachel Staver, Child Nurtrition Manager
- Jeanette Batiste, Chief Operating Officer
We encourage you to visit the blog, and comment on the stories and posts you find interesting (or funny or shocking or terrible or inspiring). If you’re passionate about ending childhood obesity and teaching kids how to lead healthier lives, make sure you look for Rachel’s posts. And keep track of Maria’s posts to see where we’ll be in the community. Regardless of who is blogging for the week, we promise to keep you engaged by making our posts as informative as possible. (So don’t forget to leave us tips on how we can improve!) And don’t worry—in addition to spicing up the content, we’re planning on sprucing up the look of our blog (the white backdrop simply doesn’t match all of the colorful things we’re doing in this community.)
Whether it’s news about food drives, hunger advocacy, child nutrition, urban agriculture, organic & hydroponic farming tips from Freshwise Farm, healthy recipes from Freshwise Kitchen, fundraisers, weight-loss/health campaigns, media events, or whatever else may come our way, we’ll be sharing it with you. Thanks for your loyal support, friends. We’re looking forward to a new and exciting year ahead!
Be Well,
Julia
